The Mathematics and Applied Mathematics major is a national-level first-class undergraduate construction program. The program highlights research and pedagogical characteristics, considering the diverse needs of students. It emphasizes the training of foundational mathematical theories, basic methods, and professional skills while focusing on the formation of mathematical application abilities. This major has contributed significantly to the supply of teaching talent in mathematics basic education in Hebei Province. Furthermore, in the process of its development, the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics major has established important research directions such as "Operator Algebra and Operator Theory", "Dynamical Systems and Differential Topology", "Combinatorial Design and Combinatorial Geometry", and "Algebraic Combinatorics and History of Algebra", training many high-level mathematics research talents for universities and research institutes nationwide.

1. Training Objectives

Objective Positioning: Implementing the Party and national education policies, based in Hebei and oriented towards the whole country, the program aims to cultivate core teachers for middle schools and other educational institutions, capable of mathematics education and teaching. Graduates are expected to become excellent teachers with certain educational research capabilities or management skills, while some will pursue further studies in top research institutions.

Five-year post-graduation goals include:

  1. Professional Ethics: Firm political belief and high social responsibility, upholding noble teacher ethics, and adhering to the law in teaching. Passionate about middle school mathematics education and committed to moral education, caring for and respecting students, guiding them in their healthy development.

  3. Educator: Strong classroom management and educational teaching management capabilities. Following the philosophy of moral education first, providing suitable education that promotes the comprehensive and individual development of middle school students.

  4. Development: Strong cooperative communication, career planning abilities, and innovative spirit. Keen on the latest trends in domestic and international educational reforms and actively pursuing development and progress.
